About Friends of Colchester Music
Colchester School District offers an impressive curriculum of music education opportunities throughout out K-12 schools. In addition to general music classes, our faculty direct a chorus program, concert choirs, and a variety of band programs.
And, they can't do it all without supplemental fundraising by Friends of Colchester Music, a 501.3c non-profit organizations run by parent volunteers in conjunction with the entire CSD music teaching team!

Thanks to the generous support of our community, Friends of Colchester Music has been able to enrich the lives of students through these donations to our CSD schools' music programs.
Instruments & Technology
Donations to Mallets Bay School include:
- 25 ukuleles used by over 1,200 students in the last 8 years
- 4 Yamaha Piaggero NP15 keyboards
- Concert bass drum
- "Soundtrap" music production software
Donations to Colchester High School include:
- 4 timpani drums
- Nord Electro 6D 73-key Keyboard
- Piano amplifer
- Tuba
- Various instrument repair costs
Scholarships
On-going scholarships to music festivals and class trips. Some highlights from the 2023-2024 school year include:
- All State Music Festival fee assistance for 24 students
- New England Music Festival fee assistance for 4 students
- ACDA Honor Choir festival fee assistance for 1 student

- Glenn Miller concert dinner event for jazz band students
- Flowers and attire for student Opera performers
- Professional drummer for spring student concert
- Stage setup services for various performances
